More than a consultant -
a true partner in your grant efforts.

While other consultants might help you write grants, we truly partner with you in your grant writing journey. From grant research to funder cultivation to crafting the message and ensuring a thoughtful and timely submission, we take all the guess work out of how your organization will win grant funding. We become integrated with your team and in time, you will find we are as committed to your mission and success as you are!

Grant Research

We start by getting to know your organization—your mission, funding priorities, programs, goals, and capacity. From there, we research and prioritize well-aligned funding opportunities, looking beyond basic eligibility to identify funders with genuine potential to invest in your work.

Project Management

A strong grant program takes more than submitting applications. We help you build a thoughtful funding pipeline, identify opportunities to cultivate relationships with funders, and manage your grant calendar so you always know what’s coming next. We keep deadlines, requirements, and next steps organized so opportunities don’t fall through the cracks.

Expert Grant Writing

Your dedicated grant writer develops compelling, customized proposals that clearly communicate your organization’s need, impact, and vision. Every application is reviewed by another Roots Partners team member before submission. We also help develop required attachments, incorporate your feedback, navigate application requirements, and manage submission from start to finish.

Reporting

Winning the grant is only part of the process. We track reporting requirements and deadlines and help prepare thoughtful, accurate reports that demonstrate how funding was used and the impact it made. Strong reporting helps you meet funder expectations while laying the groundwork for renewals and long-term funding relationships.

Getting Started is Simple!

You already have enough complicated things to manage. Hiring your grant team shouldn't be one of them.

First, we'll talk.

We'll learn about your nonprofit, where you are today, what you're hoping to fund, and what your current grant efforts look like.

Then, we'll recommend the right level of support.

If we're a good fit, we'll develop a scope of work based on the number and types of grants you want to pursue.

Then, we get to work.

We'll begin gathering documents, researching opportunities, developing your calendar, and learning the language and story of your organization.

Over time, the goal is for working with Roots to feel less like managing an outside contractor and more like having your own grant department.
