ABOUT ROOTS PARTNERS
At Roots Partners, we understand that you have fueled your organization through passion. Now, you are poised and prepared to bring in more funding to move the needle a little further. Your capacity to oversee your grant efforts might be limited, and you cannot afford to miss out on funding opportunities.
Roots Partners was established in the summer of 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, to fill a visible need for committed grant writing specialists who could help nonprofits increase their funding and build sustainable development strategies. We work with growing organizations with big visions for their communities, and we become deeply invested in the missions and people behind the work.
Roots Partners was founded by Sierra F.H. Chao, a master’s-educated fundraising and nonprofit development professional with more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. Before founding Roots Partners, Sierra worked in development and fundraising roles for nonprofit and higher education organizations, giving her firsthand experience with the opportunities—and capacity challenges—nonprofit leaders face. Her approach combines strong storytelling with data and strategy to help organizations communicate their impact and build meaningful relationships with funders.
Since then, Roots Partners has grown into a team of grant professionals who work alongside nonprofits to identify and access funding to sustain existing initiatives, launch new programs, expand services, and strengthen operations. Our clients have secured larger awards from existing funders and discovered funding opportunities they did not previously know existed.
We have helped organizations obtain grants ranging from $5,000 to $10 million. That is the power of having a development partner who is truly invested in your organization: greater funding, increased capacity, and incredible impact.
